Really? I did not come across that. If that is the case then my plans may seriously change
You have the clutch and pressure plate attached to the flywheel and the input shaft from the trany extends into this. It may be possible to get it out without dropping the trany , but to put it back in that way would be really hard.
Some have pulled the motor out with the trany still attached, there was a pic on here I found a couple years ago..
i do not think you have to drop the ZF-6. the motor should come out.
at lest it did in a 2002 250.
Snake,
Could you give me further details as to how you did it? I have no idea where to even start or what bolts to undo, so any help would be great. Also, if it is possible to pull the engine without dropping the tranny as you say you have done do you have any suggestions?
Are you going to do the bellowed up pipes, rebuild the turbo and all that other fun stuff?
Forgot to add this into my post above, I need to edit my sig, I no longer have a stock set up for turbo, I went to a T4 set up with an s467 from Irate Diesel Performance pushed by FFD 250/200% nozzles.
i pulled my first 7.3 in less then 7 hours with a small tool set and a tractor in my back yard.
just look it over good to make sure you have all the line undone.
the turbo needs to come off the front cap and the rest is just fuel water trans.
Yea...seems pretty straight forward. The fuel system is going to be replaced so that will make it much easier with the engine out. Im just worried about the trans and lining everything back up
