The posibilities are huge. The components in a diesel engine are very heavy. That helps smooth out the motor once you get it off idle.

Easy checks are change the oil, dirty oil messes with the injectors

CPS, cam position sensors give people problems with the powerstroke.

low fuel pressure, maybe your spring in the return system is worn down.

bad compression (worst case), have to buy a 100.00 guage and remove the valve covers, tool threads into the glow plug holes

worn injector(s), have to pull them and tested or take to a shop and have a contribution test done.

My biggest question would be why would it run perfectly on cruise if there are issues with the engine components? New to small diesels have owned numerous big trucks but never seen this type of problem with the big boys.

That's why I asked you if it ran rough when you accelerate using the cruise control acceleration button.

You said it didn't run rough, so that makes me think it's your pedal sensors.

Pedal replaced because of loss of acceleration at take of especially and I checked around online and saw that the pedal was a common cause. I guess I could have had a bad pedal new out the box.

Yeah I am with Stewart_H, about the pedal sensor. The TPS could be acting up on you.

Stewart_H- what does a guy has to do to get a name change around here? PM please. Thx.

Also my pedal has the sensor built on I guess you would say. I know that some are separate.

Unless I am mistaken and tps is somewhere else in line. My pedal and tps are one piece. The pedal deffinitely has somethong on left side which is attached and has a wire plugged into it.

Thats the TPS and IVS in one booger. Earlier trucks have separate switches. Can you switch your pedal assy out with a buddy's and test from there?
