Intercooler pipes

Just trying to piece together my intercooler set up and was wondering if the coupler bends in the pipe needed to be welded together, or would exhaust band clamps work if you go from od to id connections?

You need the piping to be as air tight as possible. Any openings, even small ones, will cause boost leak.

Do it right... do it once. Time to pull out the old welder, I'm a little rusty.

how much work do the SD Pipes need to make them work? Is it easier to just make your own if you had a mandrel and decent welding skills?

Anyone know what Limited Edition is/means, did they forget something or do I have something special, other than this name plate it's just a XLT as far as I know.

The SD pipes arent too hard to make work, just gotta add a few bends. It wouldn't be hard to order in some mandrel bends and fab up a set of pipes, but it would be more time consuming than starting with SD pipes.

I didn't know the SD pipes would work. Looks like I don't have to humiliate myself welding a set together after all.

I made the SD pipes work but got laughed off of another forum about it. No leaks and been working for five-six years.

What did you have to do to make them work? What part of the SD pipes did you have to modify?

I used two pieces of 2 1/2" in length exhaust pipe, welded a welding rod around the ends to hold the boots. I then doubled booted them to the spider. Jerry rig? It works, no leaks and never blows off. I don't care about pretty, I care if it works. (notice I'm depending myself before this is even posted, LOL)
