I used two pieces of 2 1/2" in length exhaust pipe, welded a welding rod around the ends to hold the boots. I then doubled booted them to the spider. Jerry rig? It works, no leaks and never blows off. I don't care about pretty, I care if it works. (notice I'm depending myself before this is even posted, LOL)
It doesn't look too bad at all in my opinion. If it works it works. Alot easier than trying to bend it to fit.
Are the IC pipes on a OBS a PITA to take off and put back on like the SD pipes? I hate wrestling with the IC pipes on a SD.
No, they aren't hard to take off. i just take them off on the out side joints at the top, then the bottom and pull it off. I've never had a SD so I can't compare.
She has no problem because all she does is watch me swear up a storm saying how I hate her truck. haha! Its, not too bad... but I like the OBS because we dont have to deal with that crap.
In my perfect world, It would be nice if I could have an intercooler and not have to wrestle the pipes out.

You could always cut them in the middle and connect the middle of the pipes with v band clamps. That way when you want to pull them out, take off the v band, loosen the boot clamps and pull the top and bottom pipes out seperately. They are a pain b/c of their length and the driver side pipe runs under the metal A/C line, so you can't twist it up, you have to pull it far enough out to clear the A/C line first. Just an idea. It's easy enough to get my pipes out that I don't really care, but if it's a concern for you, that might be an option.
