I have a 2004 F250, I replaced my oil temp sensor and i now have a small oil leak. How tight should the sensor be tightened down, it feels like it could still tighten a little more but am afraid to break it if i put too much torque on it. thanks for the help
the old one came out just fine, i put the new one as tight as i could by hand, not much room there so took a deep socket and tightened it down a ways. I havent been able to find the actual torque specs on it anywhere. I figured it wouldnt need to be too tight and the o ring would keep it from leaking
Are you talking about the oil pressure sensor? Assuming you are its 106 INCH pounds....
From a thread I started about mine :
Engine oil pressure switch (EOP) ford part # F81Z-9278-AA , does leak oil out the Conector when it fails. Located directly next to the oil filter housing with a 1 wire Conector on the top which you have to push in on the front of to release . It is easy to replace with a 27mm socket , and should be torqued to 106 in/lbs of tourque.
You do have to pull the turbo oil feed line to access it !
Good luck if you ever have to replace it ,it's a snap
no its the temp sender that is dto the left of the pressure sender. I found the torque specs, and got it to stop leaking. thanks for your replies. reps sent to you both
