There is a sensor in the driver side valve cover near the front, that I think may be where my oil leak is coming from. What is this sensor for, and has anyone ever seen it leak from here? I originally thought my hpop was leaking but after cleaning everything up and runnning it for a couple of days the hpop appears to be really clean and dry. I was just looking for input on this as i think I may look into checking on this more tommorow when I have time.
There is an o-ring that seals it to the head. By the way it is not in the valve cover, it is in the cylinder head's high-pressure oil rail. ICP means Injection control pressure, the pressure of the oil in the rail that is the mechanical force used to pressurize fuel to injection pressure. The IPR is the Injection Pressure Regulator and it regulates this highly pressurized oil from 500psi at idle to 3000psi at WOT.
strokin, is there anything special about the o-ring, can I get one from one of the sponsers here on the site? How often does it leak from here? The hpop is totaly dry so I find it hard to believe thats where it is leaking as the mechanic I had look at it said. I really appreciate the help.
