Cruise off button on steering wheel

Hard to turn off (a couple of times) cruise using the the button on the steering wheel. I just took it for a short ride, turning on and off the cruise. A couple of times, out of 10 times, I had to push the button 3 or 4 times to turn it off. No problem using the brake, the brake will dis-engage the cruise every time. Can the cover on the on/off button be removed? to check inside. Thanks - Dale

Well, I know they come off because mine fell off !!!
haven't been in a rush to replace it as it still functions with the pressure button and a long fingernail
