Does th Power folding mirror fold forward with the power option:
I hope you read "th" sarcasm in my post saying "fold your damn mirrors in".
For everyone else reading: I have taken several reports on vehicles taking the mirrors off of other vehicles that were parked. Lots of tiny mirror vehicles as well. It happens a lot, more so with vehicles like ours. Fold them in, bad drivers surround us.
Yes, the power fold mirrors fold forward, but they don't power fold forward. I just tried mine, you have to manually do it but they do fold forward. Hope that helps.
I hit a street pole with my passengerside mirror, got another one from here: Discount Body Parts
They sell good quality mirrors and it's honestly hard to tell it from the Ford OEM on my driverside.
i always figured the oem ones were made in china or something, tell i actually purchased a after market mirror. it was a great buy tell winter came and the mirror adhesive let loose and when i went out to start the truck the mirror was shattered on the ground.
Wife and I were sitting in the local restaurant waiting for the daughter and her kids. I'm looking out the window when my 9 year old granddaughter goes running thru the parking lot and frickin near rips her head off on a truck mirror. Poor kid, I felt so bad for her. Anyway, I try to always fold my mirrors in when I'm in a parking lot somewhere. Mainly so someone else doesn't do it for me.
Had my truck parked on the side of the road while I was cutting firewood and along comes a senior citizens bus (one of those small ones). All of a sudden I hear "BANG". The driver (elder woman) hit my mirror with the one on the bus.
I went to the dealer on the way home and got an estimate. Mirror: $880 Installation: $99.00
Just wanted everyone to know these things are far from being cheap.
did you see my mirror thread a couple weeks ago?? local dealer with repair shop discount would sell me a new right mirror for $460, its does have the temperature sensor in it on that side, so if one is more expensive I would think it would be the right side.
Yup, that's a lesson a few of us have learned. I learned mine when I hit a turkey!
If you have the time I suggest ordering it from Tousley Ford. They have the cheapest prices around, I think they quoted me around $650 or so. I drove all the way over there yesterday to buy some specialized bolts for my old Contour. Local dealer wanted $28 for the bolt and nut, and I was able to get them from Tousley for around $7!
I feel your pain Tom...I was towing my boat to the lake and some pea***** went across the road. I turned to my wife and said "That would really suck to hit one of those!" and three seconds later another peacock, the straggler of the group, jetted out and hit my windshield at the top corner on the passenger side. It broke my antennae, made a perfect circle crack about 3 inches diameter in the windshield, and was no where to be found after.
Yes, the power fold mirrors fold forward, but they don't power fold forward. I just tried mine, you have to manually do it but they do fold forward. Hope that helps.
That does help because I tried mine and put a lot of pressure on it and gave up before I broke it
