Outside Mirrors

I got clipped the other day on the freeway standing still, a Caltrans worker( freeway repair guys) was rushing to a accident . I have nothing special in the mirror and they want $500 to fix it, the mirror cost $400. Prices seem to just be going up I guess that's why the truck cost so much.

Hopefully, CalTrans is picking up the tab for the repair and rental.

I hope Caltrans picks up the bill, you have to file a claim against them and then we will see. Government is slow, I will have to pay it out of my pocket to get fixed first and then maybe they will re-inverse me. It won't be to bad I have to pay for the part that is only in Detroit and wait for it to come in then it only takes 2 hours to fix.

I just got back from the dealer and I got my new mirror, it only took 3 weeks to order it. Caltrans says that they have 45 days to respond to my claim.

Do you have a dash cam? It would probably help the claim. I have one in each car, but I am looking for one that includes cams for the side view mirrors so I can watch the trailer.
