Torqueshift poping?

Make sure the suspension components were not worn and tight, all look good. No lose bolts that i can see or feel.

So yesterday i picked up the rear of the truck and had my wife jump in and start the truck. Thinking it nay be the rear-end.
I have her put it in gear and let the wheels spin for a bit then hit the breaks slowly. The pop is now more prominent. no matter if she pushes the breaks slow or fast it still pops.
It does not look like its coming from the Diff. There is no humm from the diff and the shafts have only about a 1/8 to 1/16th slop before engaged.
As i looked closer i observed the trans slowing down and just before a full stop it looked like it slipped and caught up a again. Is this normal.
This seems to be were my pop is coming from.
I have not pulled any trans codes and the tow/haul light does not blink.
So could it be the output shaft is stripped or a bad trans solenoid, or maybe even the torque converter?
I think its well into first gear when it does it, so i don't think its a 1-2 down shift, could it possibly be a torque converter lockout thing?
Oh sorry the truck is a 06' 5.4 SRW 150K. New to me.
Thanks for the help again guys.
I did change the tranny oil in the pan and changed the filter a few weeks ago, but still no fix.
