Hello,
I parked my '69 F110 (360) 8 months ago and sometime next month I'm going to get him. I know it was a bad idea to let him set that long but due to moving for employment reasons I had little choice. At any rate I'm wondering if there are any serious tips out there for attempting a light off after that long. I did mix stabil with the gas before he was shut down.
Mine usually fire right up after hibernating. We only have about a 3 month driving season for classics up here in the NW, the rest of the time they just sit in the shop. Just make sure it's got fuel in the carb and a good charge on the battery.
Ya, here in the rust belt, mine sits for 6+ mos at a time. Pull the coil wire and crank it til you get oil pressure. Or just don't pump the throttle, as it will take a moment to get fuel back in the carb anyway.
Keep tabs on carb, so that if float sticks you can see it if it starts to burp fuel.
