My V-6 Cummins

Just yesterday I bought a V-6 cummins I found off of the local CL for 500 bucks. It's the 155 horse model and I got an extra short block and 10 speed Fuller trans with it too. The block it's self isn't any bigger then the FE in my truck so it will fit right nice between the frame rails. I won't be able to put it in till the fall but it's not going in without a little work done to bring the power up.

Doubtful. I don't think that engine is out yet and there's no way anyone would let one go for $500. The v-6 155 is an older 378ci engine used mostly in equipment and marine applications I believe.

Yep it came out of a frontend loader. It's non-turbo low compression diesel. If you have ever heard of the cummins triple nickel, this is the baby brother to it. I'll get picks of it next weekend when I pick it up. Like I said earlier it's about the same size as an FE big block.

Besides that, I thought it was the Nissan Titan that is slated for a new "baby" 4 cylinder Cummins engine...

I don't need the extra 6 gears so it will be for sale once I get it. My 4 speed with 4.10 gears will be just fine in my 1 ton. Unless it breaks then I'll find a NP 435 to replace the T-18

Twin stick, no chance of goofing that up or concern about driver fatigue...

IMHO I would take a T18/T19 (prefer T19 myself) over an NP435 any day.

Well the T-18 is in the truck, there is a NP435 in the shed for free, and my buddy has a T-19 at his house he will sell me for cheap. So I'll be good on trannys. But I may keep the fuller and put a 3.55 gear in the rear and have some fun.

IMO lots of work here, questionable payoff. 155 HP, 280 Ft/lbs? Out of 378 low compression, non-turbo'd cubes? I'd rather have a 300 six with some aftermarket goodies....jmo, ymmv, good luck with it.
