If that ain't chocolate milk, i've fogotten what chocolate milk is.
Good luck flushing everything out, with it that bad and the number of flushes you're going to have to do Fumoto valves and 3/8" I.D. hoses are a life saver.
The problem is its going to keep pumping oil into the coolant making it worse its going to turn into a thick sludge the water pump wont be able to pump coolant/sludge and it will overheat so bad that you will need a New Engine
Flush the crap out now as best you can. Straight water would be better than that stuff. Flushed mine about twice a week with tap water and added a little coolant each time for about three weeks until I could change the cooler. Use the simple green in those flushes.
U don't flush with tap water. Distilled water only, with the restore stuff. Point is, if u gotta use water, use distilled water. Calcium in tap water will damage engine. Similar to silicates. Tats why u will find yourself doing more coolant flushes.
A reman'd engine will cost a helluvalot more than a rental a car for a few days.
If oil is in the coolant, you have a milkshake in the crankcase as well. Think about it, you're pushing coolant through the injectors and bearings, the bill is going to quadruple to a rebuild of the engine if you insist on driving it. Call Enterprise and get a subcompact for the week, that'll be less than replacing all your injectors.
i have been running the green coolant, to find out this is horrible to do, to flush the system good, what do i need to use, i do not have oil in coolant just want to make sure all green is out of there....
Page 13, part 6.1. TO just swap out the coolant, skip the parts about any chemicals and flush it with distilled water a few times, then follow the procedure for filling with Gold/elc on page 26, part 9.0
Edit: if you want to, this also tells you how to do the VC9/Restore flush, and explains about the different chemicals
Thanks for all the input guys. I was able to take a closer look at what was in my degas bottle yesterday while at work and the pictures I posted make it look worse than what it is (I think). There isn't much floating around in the degas bottle but, I am going to flush the system tommorow evening hoping that there isn't a bunch within the engine. Im still changing the oil cooler because I know this is just the beginning of it getting worse. Is the ECT/EOT temps a good indication of how bad things are? Mine stay between ECT 188-190/EOT 196-198 no matter where Im driving (highway or in stop and go). Once again, greatly appreciate all of the input.
I hope you are not still driving it. You have identified a problem and are only making things worse. Get a ride or thumb it man! Good luck on the oil cooler swap! Post the results (and pics) when finished.
You won't have a choice about driving the truck. The oil will all get pumped into the cooling system and the truck will shut down. As stated earlier: Rent a car and save your motor.
