I have a 03 F250 6.0 w/195,000 miles. I don't have any mods other than the cat removed and the egr disconnected. My question is about potential oil in my degas. It doesn't look like "chocolate milk" like some have described on here but, looks more like what you would think the wrong coolant gumming up the system would (just purchased truck last July). I monitor my temps with a Edge CTS and ECT stays around 188-190 while EOT stays between 196-199 under normal highway speeds (not towing). I have a coolant bypass w/clear super silicone hoses that I was going to hook up in a couple of weeks after reverse flushing the oil cooler, heater core, and radiator. Any heads up info or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Can you post a picture of the color of your coolant. If your oil Cooler has failed and burst. Driving it while mixing oil with coolant WILL kill your motor.
Unless I'm getting the really crappy photos on my laptop...I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that's emulsified oil in your coolant; your oil cooler is leaking. Looks like you've got some coolant puking going on since there a white residue around the base of the threads as well. Is that green coolant inside the "ring" around the base of the threads? The coolant puking may be addressed with a new cap, over time they won't hold the pressure like they should. The other two need to be addressed SOON.
I would have the EGR cooler changed as well. Check the EGR valve & maybe change. Looks like you will need to have the engine coolant passages thoroughly flushed, including the heater core.
Other than oil cooler, intake manifold gaskets, turbo gaskets and hardware. Are there any other gaskets/hardware I should purchase while doing this job?
Any headaches I should be aware of while doing this and how long should it reasonably take?
Changing the oil cooler...4 hours for a slow tech at the dealership; so the better part a day covers it all. When you pull the oil cooler out...make sure you get all the old oil out of the valley it sit in and be careful to not leak any coolant into that part of the engine. Use lots of brake clean to clean up around the oil cooler valley. I can't stress this enough...get all of the crap out of the valley and try not to use a new shop rag (loose lent in the HPO system will cause havoc). After you get it back together, you'll need simple green in the coolant system to get all that oil out of there. It will come out...just takes time. Most folks would suggest changing the rubber hoses since they'll swell/absorb the oil....both of which will cause problems down the road. With that kind of crap in your cooling system, a thermostat wouldn't be a bad idea.

The intake gaskets are re-usable if you don't screw 'em up (shouldn't have an issue with 'em). The only parts you need for the turbo is a "hardware kit" (Riffraff Diesel: Ford 6.0L Turbo Reinstall Kit ).
One other thing, get rid of that green coolant and replace it with the right stuff. Either Ford Gold or a silicate free extended life coolant like CAT ELC-1.
oh and if ur changing out the oil cooler, dont forget the new updated oil cooler screen as well. it'll work better than stock, i can tell u tat much. it's wire mesh now. the oem one was jus a nylon mesh thingey. plastic crap.
benny is right too. ford gold, zerex g-05, or an elc coolant which u can find from ur local tractor supply store or from ur local International truck dealer. International trucks' parts department usually open til late. mine opens til midnight, so it makes for good shopping. lol.

Get some Simple Green Cleaner to run threw the coolant system and clean it out
DO NOT RUN IT ANYMORE
Are you going to do the work its not to bad a job time consuming if so I can give you some PDF and a couple tricks to help out
BLADE35, Those PDFs would be appreciated. My personal email is timothy.chapman@yahoo.com . I just ordered a rebuild kit from Tousley Ford, along with intake gaskets, turbo hardware kit, & the updated turbo drain tube. I recently purchased a coolant bypass kit, new rotors and brakes (all the way around) & every filter known to man for this truck. I do have some ELC (getting ready to do flush soon). I can't park the truck because it is my only transportation. I did take next week off to work on the truck and handle some projects around the house. Is there anything that I can watch for or do until the parts come in? Thanks everyone for the inputs and advice!
