FUEL SHUT OFF SWITCH

My fuel shut off switch (2005 F350 SD FX4 ) in the passenger side kick panel is up. I push it down and it won't stay, comes right back up. Isn't that supposed to be in the down position and pop "up" when activating or do I have it wrong. I'm losing my mind so anything is possible.

IIRC the button is just spring loaded up, but the mechanism inside stays down when you reset it. So I think you are just feeling the spring in the button.

Okay Thanks.
That makes sense actually. I am chasing an electrical issue in the dash
and was just doublechecking.

Who is the electrical guru on here? If i recall wasn't there a geargoose or gearloose or something to that effect.
