You lose 4 mpg for every 10 mph faster so how did you come up with that number? I get 4/10=0.4. For 2 mph, you lose 0.8mpg. Did I do the math wrong?

Ive got the V1 and I used a blend mount and pulled my power with the rear view mirror tapping kit from the same company....works great! Pics to come!
BTW I have been saved a zillion times with mine! I love my LEO's and pray for their safety, but speed traps on downhill grades where speeds change from 70 to 55 (outside Atlanta today) are just retarded money machines and I refuse to submit my money to that crap.
The law is the law and as long as it is legal to monitor those that monitor me with inconsistent and faulty equipment that is mainly used for revenue, then I'll run my V1. If we really cared about speeders and vehicular safety then we wouldn't nickel and dime them...we'd go full bore crazy to keep them off the roads, not merely ding em for cash.
just my 2 cents

Totally off topic but definitely true. If speed was the true killer our cars would be equipped with GPS monitors that would at the very minimum ding when we exceeded the posted speed limit. I mean hell my tom tom knows what the posted limit is and when I'm exceeding it on most roads anymore. I just hope the US doesn't turn into britian, with speed cameras everywhere. Around here there are a few roads with 40-50 mph limits that are narrow roads with lots of blind entrances and driveways hidden behind small hills and the DC crowd that comes out tend to drive 70-80 mph on the straight stretches. I've seen several fatal and serious accidents on these roads, yet they are very sparsely patrolled. The LEO's around here sit on our 4 line highways with 65 and 70 mph speed limits that honestly you could safely do 80-90 on, restricted access via ramps, huge paved shoulders, gentle curves, et, and pull people over all day. I'm guessing those stops are safer for the cops and easier since they have more room to operate.
thats not even mentioning the fact that you can go into almost any small town in WV and ask 5 people and you are almost guaranteed to find one of those 5 that can point out a house to you where the residents are dealing drugs, and yet no one ever busts them... while I get pulled over for my tags being 2 weeks dead in january, or for having a registration light out, or whatever...
sometimes it seems like it boils down to what is easier for the LEO and generating income vs what is best for protecting and serving the community. The smaller the town, the worst the local leos are.

I don't get pissed if the cop pulls me over and says "You were speeding, running a red light, etc, etc". Here is the ticket. You don't need to appear in court. Any questions?". If I have no questions, he walks back. You can't blame him for what you did wrong. You have the option to dispute that if you want. More often than not, the cops I encounter are jerks that try to impress you with what they can do. Probably cheaper than Cialis and they can go back to the wife with a woody.

D,
The CJB(Central Junction Box) is the main fuse box under the steering column. I used an add-a-fuse off of the delayed accy circuit. If you plan on adding a mute or kill switch, now or in the future, having the power feed from under the dash makes those changes very easy.

People can say what they want about V1s or detectors as a whole - they have saved me many times. I have five of these suckers and they have paid for themselves many times over. If the laser detector goes off, you can pretty much pull over but I have had some bounces off other vehicles.
And for the haters out there - Austin PD will give you a ticket for 1 mph over. Yes, I know that is not the norm and is downright BS. Most speedometers are even accurate to 1MPh anyway. So, I will keep my V1s.
Another thing most people that have not run one don't know is that i tells you direction and signal count. So when there is a speed trap and you past the first one - it will warn you if there is another one coming up by be having the arrows, count, etc.
Thanks,
D.

1 mph over is still 1 mph over, If defective speedometer is an excuse for speed, nobody would ever have a functioning speedometer. If you want to ticket me, ticket me and do your job. I get pissed, and I am sure many do at the ATTITUDE of the creep.
