26A - doesn't correspond to anything I have. What is it located over? Trans/Axle/ etc??
Production code is assembly plant specific - only they knew

Tim is right on the decode.
However, I like to see the serial data tag decoded like this. I think that it helps some people see it this way.
F1 = 1/2 ton
R = 239 V8 flathead
2 = 1952
AT = Atlanta assembly plant
25385 - serial/production number down the line

Trans = 3.
Rear Axle = 3.92.
Color =N.
26A.
Production Code 864D.
All the numbers line up directly over the corresponding description with the exception of 26A. It's not really aligned with anything. Curious what the 864D might stand for.
