Question to senix

Is there any truth that if you have dirty fuel filters low or high pressure that it can shorten your regen (more frequently)? This is in reference to Stanleyz in this forum questioning regen cycles.

But just as good

No..has nothing to do with it. It is all sensors and pcm for the regens..based upon soot in the bag.

I will that..dirty fuel filters are a no no for the health of the fuel system overall.

do the 10K fuel filter changes and drain that water separator like it was your bank account at the pump.

I believe fuel quality does have something to do with it though. More specifically cetane rating. I noticed increased regen frequency on both my 6.4L and 6.7L trucks when I used fuel additive.

You would think that the regens would decrease with an additive as more cetane should equal a better cleaner burn,,,
