leaf spring?

im swaping a 62 9" into my 49 f3. i was wandering if i should change to the 62 springs aswell. would it get a better ride? but im stil looking for the same ride height and i do plan on using it as a truck unlike some of you

The springs from the '62 will probably ride better but they are 1/2 ton springs. You will loose alot of your payload capacity that your F3 already has. And on top of that, you'd have to measure the springs and make sure they are the same length as your old ones too anyways.

he hit it on the head what i was gonna say . check the length . the npd cataloghas a listing of spring widths , lengths etc. i believe in it ...............

My 48 F1 is a work truck, 9" rear on the original spring pack. I have yet to bottom out even when I hauled full pallets of sod a few years ago.

The stock seat is amazingly well-sprung. It takes up the bumps the springs pass along making the ride fairly comfortable. I had a newer F250 4x4 hit me from behind at high speed about 10 years ago - the seat absorbed the blow that smashed the box into the cab, bent the frame and spun me around 180* I wasn't injured. It's pretty amazing to watch your glovebox empty itself on the seat beside you....

My advice would be to use the stock springs if you have a stock interior. If you've changed the seats to something modern, then....??
