400M Rebuild kit?
I'm going to be using this truck pretty much for everything (daily driving, hauling, four-wheeling, hunting rig and working out of it). I've been doing some searching on here about rebuilding the 400, ive read about the straight up timing and getting different pistons. What i'm looking for and wondering is if someone could put together an ideal master rebuild kit for longevity(this is my number 1 priority), medium HP, medium-high torque, 13-16mpg(if possible) and reasonable in price. Also what intake and if i should use the stock 2150 or upgrade to a Holley?
Appreciate It,
Josh
Headers, straigh-up timing chain, intake manifold(weiand,edelbrock...) and a carb from 600 to 700 cfm could be a good starting point.
$ would be cam, spring, rebuild head or better head, pistons and rings, rod bearing, main bearing, machining the block to the next available piston size...
stroker kit for 351m,400 to a 434 is available from Tim Meyer.
kit for 400 are also available.
