Insulation Cover/plate???

Insulation Cover/plate???
Can anyone give me some ideas???? About 3-4 years ago I had someone put in a new clutch/pressure plate and flywheel in my 1997 F250 Diesel, 4 speed with overdrive, well to say the least it works great, however the noise I'm getting coming through the floor around the gear shift I have to keep a heavy blanket wrapped around it to even hear the radio, apparently he forgot to put some kind of insulation cover back up under there (so he says, which he also threw away) and I need someone to tell me what & where I can buy this piece that goes back in there.

Insulation Cover/Plate???
This is some really great information but I don't think it's what I'm looking for. Inside my truck under the gear shift boot is a plate and then there is nothing, I needed to know if there is some other kind of plate or insulation cover that is suppose to be installed from the bottom to keep all the noise from the outside elements from coming in from under there. If I keep the heavy blanket wrapped around the bottom of my gear shift/boot it is all quiet, but the moment you take the blanket away it is very noisy coming from the space by the boot. The mechanic even told me that he had forgotten to put this cover(????) back under there.

That's easier said than done, haven't spoke with him in 3 years and I'm not sure where he is now. I find it better to try and find the thing and do it myself. I thought that maybe someone might know what I'm talking about and direct me to finding it.

That's not there, when I pull the boot back all I see is a black metal plate, no kind of insulated base. I'm not having any luck with a website to find this particular part, any suggestions where to look?
