Was sorry to see the thread on gas prices disappear. Sometimes change is brought about by grass roots discussions like that was. I know FTE is not that type of site but too bad just the same
It moved to the Club. Pay the $ to be a supporter and come join us!
Gotta keep the tech forums focused on what they're meant for, helping people fix trucks and engines. All the off-topic stuff happens in the General Non-auto, General Auto, or the Club.

Yes, BUT gas does effect how we use or don't use our superdutys.
So if I started the thread ..."how can i improve my gas mileage cuz gas may reach $5.00 gallon" ...that could have stayed here cuz it was helping me with my problem?
Politics and trucks go hand in hand as far as emissions, mpg regulations, fuel prices and etc. Just the way it is. However the site has its rules and the mods have to enforce those rules.

And the conversation can continue.......in the Club. Rules are rules and when politics begin to infiltrate discussions in the tech forums, posts get edited and threads either get closed or moved to the appropriate forum.

Sure, those kinds of threads are fine. Again though, the politics begin to find their way into what should be technical discussions. Once that happens, the forum rules need to be enforced.
While we understand that some discussions related to this often go hand-in-hand with talk about taxes, pricing, etc., it is also understood that the tech forums are not the place for political discussion. When threads like the one mentioned above get some steam, it never fails that someone starts throwing blame on the feds, the senate, congress, the President, and so on. That's when it's time for us to step in and either edit the posts, close the thread, or move it to the Club.

Now this thread has to be moved because its totally unrelated to Super Duty tech...
Nope. This one is just fine here and I'm going to leave it here.
It'll be a good reference for when threads start getting sidetracked and bogged down with political content. We'll just refer folks to it when they ask these same questions.

The politics part i agree on, I was quilty and did apologize, and did not bring politics up again. If someone else did then that is where you step in and enforce - that two i understand.
However, to say it has nothing to do with helping people fix trucks and engines?? well how about:
"Lets see your truck dogs" or "best scenic pic" or anything that says "show me", or "lets see".
I'm just saying its disappointing to start a thread that effects my business AND how i operate my SD and could effect many others who have SD's moved or removed. Right now the way it looks I may not have a SD much longer because of rising gas prices.

There is a huge difference between the political topics being thrown in the tech forums and the threads you've mentioned here. If you'll take a look through the other forums on FTE, you'll find plenty of picture threads and plenty of threads that may not directly contribute to fixing trucks and / or tech. What you won't find are multiple political threads in the tech forums. It's just not allowed......period.
Now if you want to start a thread about the rising price of gas in the U.S. and it remains free of political garbage, no problem. However, as soon as politics enter the thread, it's gone.
I found that politics affect almost every hr of my life.
I can not fire my fireplace this morning, because we do have spare the air day. I mean spare the air is in the area 60 miles from me, but whole Bay Area is banned.
We do have good freeways and good cars, yet we can only use about 50% of their potential because of the politics. Speed limits aside -our cars of last generation have governors factory build in. There are dozens of cheap cars making 60 mpg all around the World, but not in the USA.
Heck, I can't buy good beer on West Coast as government limits alcohol level to 3.5%
All I can say, thank you moderators for trying to make conversations possible.

Well, at least you can continue to drive your superduty. I think that if indeed something/someone raises gas prices any higher than $4.00/gal. I will be forced to sell my truck as I can no longer afford to operate that or my business. I am not in the position I was in 10 years ago where I could just take on more work if I wanted to buy something. The work is just not out there, and what is there people can no longer afford the luxury of that rising expense. And I am just not as young as I used to be. Something has driven me out of business...
