Trying to figure out a 2006' F-550 2WD that has 135,276 miles and carrying 21,000 ALL the time, (service truck) Been noticing last several 1,000 miles front end has had a shimmy in the wheel while passing 40-going to 50. After 50 going up to 65-75 it is basically gone. Last week we serviced it and rotated tires and checked air pressure, now going up on ramp to interstate you had better be wide open or when it gets to 44-45 front end takes a s#%^& fit. Jacked it up and checked ball joints, tie rods and drag link. Everything is tight. Tires about 1/2 worn, running 90 in fronts. ( LRE- you can run 110) Tried 100- it gets worse. Pretty sure it's tires but what has anyone here found??? Track bar is tight on both ends too.
My 05 F450 had this and it was cured by replacing the front tires. Take 2 of the rears and swap them to the front. That will let you know if it's the tires or not for free.
