P0340 Code

I have ran into this a couple of times, try clearing the code and unplugging the alternator. Road test the vehicle and see if the code returns, if it does not, the alternator is the likely cause. There is an issue with a diode inside the alternator failing and causing the pcm to trigger the MIL. Another possibly is the cam sensor itself and/or a timing issue. The timing chain or cam sprocket pins can fail. Does the truck run ok?
