I have had a new rebuilt engine install just recently and the cam sensor code came up misfire. I had the cam adjusted 4 times and finally got the tool to set it right in my 4.2 engine. The code came up again, replace the shaft and the sensor, reset and the code came back again. What can be causing this? The engine runs great, no misfiring. I know that the cam is set right because we used that tool that sets it at the right degree. Can I remove this code from the computer? I would accept any help. Thanks...meh129
Have you tried unplugging your battery for awhile? I can't remember the exact time. I think it is 10-15 minutes. If you haven't done it since your last adjustment, the computer won't recognize the change.
Rich,
THANKS ALOT! I dont know why the shop didnt do this in the first place, would of saved some visits. I have diving 80 miles and no code. I'll have to let the mechanic know for future sake. Thanks Again...meh129
