2008 6.4 trouble code

Its the P2002 code, which I know can be thrown by an after market CAI... Which, yes I did just install one a few hundred miles ago. I notice though, even though the filter is clean, the vacuum thing? on the intake tube was sucked all the way down. I reset it, hoping maybe it will clear the code. Im using S&B intake

Also, I live in texas, and I have read many people in texas seem to have this same problem. In the morning, especially on a damp day, if im driving the truck for at least 10 miles or so, and i have to pass someone, when i give it some throttle, it will kind of studder and white smoke comes out of exhaust. Any ideas?

The code is nothing to worry about. It's an exhaust code. It will probably go away as the DPF fills and come back on after a regen. There's a TSB for the studder you desribe (don't know what it is right now). It is an intercooler issue. Some folks got the TSB done and it was cured. Others not, but was "better". After market CAC will fix it if you can spare the $$.

might want to ensure that the cai is on there correctly. My banks will not suck it like that. My mornings can be quite cold.

It only sucked it in once, so idk what went wrong there. I cleared the code and it hasnt came back on sense. Its still under warranty, so would they fix that problem i mentioned for free? If you could find out what TSB it was let me know, because I called 2 dealerships today and described the problem and they said nothing is wrong? Im new to diesels, but last time I checked they shouldnt blow WHITE smoke out randomly. What is a CAC if you dont mind me asking?

The cac is the intercooler, it may fill with some humidity here in TX and will come out as white smoke, when accelerating...

Sounds just like what is happening. Who makes good aftermarket ones? I know Banks but they are pretty pricey.

There are several makers. Banks, AFE, Spearco to name a few. Banks is the lowest priced one that I've seen.

Thanks everyone. The code was cleared and hasnt come back. As for the humidity in the intercooler problem, Ford is going to replace it under warranty. LJC, I noticed that you have 37" tires with a 2.5" leveling kit. Im curious, does it rub at all when you turn? I have Firestone Destination M/T 325/65/R18 on my truck with a 4" skyjacker lift and it rubs just a little when turning to the left.

I did cut very minimal the plastic. The right front tire rubs slightly when turning to the left to the max. Those trucks look great with 37 👍
