Thanks for all your help guys. I went with a manual push button "spring" starter switch. I installed it in the back of the spare change/receipt/pen/ everything else small enough to fit- holder compartment just to the right of the steering wheel. It works great.

cool. i want to put mine on a push button since my controller does not work right but i can not bring myself to drill a hole in the dash for the switch. trying to think of a different place to mount it.

Mount it on a bracket under the dash, this also hides it from kids (or the curious) ... thus preventing the obvious fault of manual Glow Plugs!
