i noticed today that my engine is quite quiet. you can defiantly tell that it is a diesel it just does NOT HAVE ANY RATTLE. it idles nice and smooth just quiet.
i have the timing advanced about two dimes widths on the timing marks. does it sound like i should advance the timing a little more? the only time that it sounds like a diesel is at idle. anything over idle it just sounds like a big block gasser. nothing wrong with that, i would just like my turbo diesel to sound like a turbo diesel.
diesels quite down and lose a lot of rattle off idle,so you can't go by that too much.
someone needs to get Gary to come over and put his timing meter rental service down in the classified section you know it.
with these fuel prices,it kinda pays to just buy the ferret adapter and a good light too.or if your a glutton for punishment like me,an old school lumy meter lol.finding working used meters is hit and miss though.
