So my 91' F250 has a 7.5L fuel injected 460BB 4x4 Automatic. You can start the truck but it will only run for a few seconds, Then it will not restart unless the gas pedal is completely to the floor, then it will only run again for a few seconds. The smoke coming out the exhaust is the normal greyish white exhaust color. The plugs are brand new and all gapped correctly, don't show signs of fouling or overheat. They also have spark at every plug. Distributor cap and rotor are new, MAP sensor and TPS sensor are new. Truck stinks like it's loading up on fuel after it dies, motor shakes hard for the few seconds it will idle. I am stumped and after several other friends looked at it they cant figure it out either. Anyone Have a similar or the same problem and fixed it or know what could be wrong?
Sounds like a bad Fuel Pressure Regulator.
Pull the vacuum line off the nipple on top and turn the key on and off a few times with a cold engine. If fuel comes out of the nipple it is bad.
