Ive been looking at the different posts but probably not the right ones. I want to know how to test the starter on my 2000 Ex. Last couple of weeks it's been sluggish when it starts.
The starter stuck on back in July and as I had no choice, I went to the closest NAPA store and bought their rebuilt starter.
Recently I replaced the alternator with a new one and I checked the CCA and voltage of the batteries and found the battery on passenger side failed with a CCA of 525 when it should be 850. replaced the bad battery (i know they should be replaced in pairs, but the drivers side tested great 825 CCa) and I had the same battery in my aerostar, and it was only 1 month old so I swapped it with the bad one.
Thats what i've done so far, still starts weak. leading me back to the starter. What's the proper amperage draw for these starters? How can I test it? (sorry for the long post)
Thanks,
George
What type test equipment will you be using ? Can you accurately measure cca. Did you replace it with Denso or Mitsibishi. How many miles are on the truck ? Sorry for all the questions, just tryin to help
