Tranny temps
My 2003 F350 4x4 came with a factory transmission temperature gauge. It does not show the actual temperture only a C to H like a stock oil temp guage. As I tow a 5'er with this rig I would like to keep my tranny temp below 190. Does anyone know where @ 190 in on this guage?

190 is right in the middle of the gauge. So is 60, and so is 230.
If you want to know the temperature you need an aftermarket gauge. That gauge will only tell you when the transmission has overheated.

Could you give any reason why Ford has done this? In a supposed attempt to allow vehicle owners to watch their transmisson temps and thus take care of their vehicles, they have failed to provide a guage that gives any real information. They put a trans temp guage on trucks now, and we still have to go out and buy our own guage to get a real world reading.
