Edge cts questions

I have been looking at these. Truck is a new 2012 so I do NOT want to program it. I would however like to view the various temps and gauge info it offers as well as add a backup camera. Are there any other options that offer this without programming? Also will this change anything on the truck (ie if I leave it stock can I unplug it and no trace left)? I don't want to void my warranty. Thanks

I see the insight model now. I think this is exactly what I want. This is not a programmer is it? It's just a gauge display-correct? Thanks

cool, thanks. I may have to sneak this into the house.... guess she is going to notice it when attached to the windshield, though.

Yep, it plugs into the OBDII port. You can even get a guage pod, paint it to match interior and install it like the one below. Although mine is '10, nearly identical. After painting, it took all of 15 minutes to install and program to the parameters I wanted to see.

Very nice. To echo one of the other questions...this is a display unit only, right? (no programming) I also don't want to mess with the warranty.............

Yes..display only. No need to worry about warranty. Just make sure the service department knows its only a monitor to avoid an argument

I think it can control a tuner were you to connect an edge tuning device to the truck.
Without the tuning module, the device is only a monitor.
The power buttons at the top are disabled.
I simply unplug it when I take the truck in because I clean everything out of my truck anyways.
I use the suction cup to the center of my windshield above the tray to the right of my GPS.
This way when the hot sumer sun causes the cup to release, it only falls a half inch to the dash.

Spend the extra money to get the CTS.
You can put up to 8 PIDs.
Also, verify with them the 2012 model year works.
I read awhile back the 2012's weren't working properly.

It works on the 2012, but you will have to download the latest software.

Edge has also announed the Evolution CTS. which IS a programmer and uses the same display panel. The INSIGHT is only a monitor The EVOLUTION is the programer.

Sitting on your dash they will look almost identical except for what come up when you push the buttons.

If you only want the monitor make sure to buy the Edge Insight CTS. Plus the Insight is $200 cheaper than the Evolution.
