I Upgraded my '66 F250 to discs a while back, and had purchased the king pin kit for the drum set-up, but decided to upgrade
to discs later. Question...are the king pins for the 1966 F250 original drum front end the same as the pins for the 1968 F250
disc front end from the donor truck??

King pins: 1966/70 F250 2WD with 12" x 2 1/2" drum brakes same as 1968/70 F250 with disc brakes.

If the drum brakes were originally 12 1/8" x 2" ~ not the same.

 

Can't remember which pin I have but I think there was one with the retaining bolt med-way and the other a little off center. Did I get that right. I got my front dics, power steering and stuff from a 74'. I should go look and see which one I have. Been so long since I replaced mine but I think I had to also change my K-pins. Hummm... Maybe not.

 

You got it right, but didn't mention the year this occurred.

1965 F100/250 2WD king pins (C5TZ-3111-C) are 1965 only. The slot in '65 king pins for the spindle bolt locking pin (A8TZ-3122-A) is in a different location than 1966 and later.
