I just looked thru the 1964 Ford Shop Manual and there is not a single thing about where the block would be stamped, suprising. This would be a question for NumbersDummy- he is the guru!!! Sorry I couldn't help & I have the same truck and engine, now it's got me wondering. What trans do you have?
The date code found on engine blocks will ID the day/month/year the block was cast, but in some cases, the block wasn't installed in vehicles the year it was cast.
After a block is cast, it is placed outside to season. After this occurres, the block is shipped to an engine plant to be finished. Then the complete engine is shipped to an assembly plant, where it is "banked" until needed.
This entire process could take 3-4 months (or even longer-depends when the complete engine was installed).
So if the block was cast, for example on June 25, 1963 (code 3F25), the complete engine would be installed in a 1964 vehicle.
The Ford type 3.03 3 speed manual all syncromesh transmission was standard equipment in 1963/64 F100/250 I-6's and 292's.
The Warner T-86 3 speed manual with O/D was an option for 1961/64 F100's.
btw: "Numbers matching" is a GM thing, refers to VIN's stamped on engines/transmissions and etc. FoMoCo: The only numbers matching jazz of this time frame applies to Shelby's.
Thanks number that answered what I was begining to realize . The numbers matching thing is a GM thing. And you answered my motorsnumber question. Thanks have a good one. Cold in Florida Today brrrrrrr.
