Think I'll do a bit more research on these guys, this is the first I'd heard of them. I had chambered exhausts on a '72 302 Comet GT years ago, sounded great. My Borla sounds great, but would like just a little more sound at idle and low rpm. This is the chamber I'm looking at to replace the resonator, the last one.
SHORT POWERSTICK Short POWERSTICK
IN/OUT PART# CORE BODY DIA. BODY LENGTH OA LENGTH
2" 2018SB 2-1/4" 3" 14" 18"
2-1/4" 22520SB 2-1/4" 3" 16" 20"
2-1/2" 2520SB 2-1/2" 3-1/2" 16" 21"
3" 3020SB 3" 3-1/2" 16" 21"

Looks like about $70, plus shipping, but I could just pick it up down there. Have to get under the truck again and measure the Borla resonator as well.
I like the guy. See him on factory five forum. I guess he sells a lot of mufflers for those kit cars. Guy knows his stuff. Loved talking to him when we met at a parts store parking lot. I have a couple of the 24 inch 2 1/2 dia. mufflers with an x pipe.

If you make it part of the answering machine recording we can all listen that way.

If they would fix their pic problem first. I like my phone answer as it is. I like my ringtone better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1w7Fh7VNto

I have been emailing him and looking at the last one also. But since my truck has 2.5" pipe I'm thinking the 2520 instead. Didn't think a reducer would make sense.

I'm not familiar with the system on a 5.4. Are you talking about replacing the muffler, or the resonator, or both, if you have both.

Any recs ?

2.5" with clamp to current 2.5" pipe.
Pipe goes from cat to current muffler.
Or
3" with reducer between the two?

Not looking for performance.
Just tone.
Have cold air intake and JNA shorty headers.
No programmer anymore.

If u r using a single pipe the bigger the better. Don't know if the noise will change but the less cylinders u have to quiet the harder it is.

A reducer chokes flow but causes the velocity to increase.

Does it really matter which tube goes inside and which outside?

I'm surprised you say that about Felpro. When I was working at McCord gasket some engineers would say to use them for certain gaskets that were better than ours. I would go with an aluminum type gasket if available like Mr. Gasket's header flange gaskets. Alternatively use a graphite based gasket if you can find one. We had great sealing with them. Last would be a multilayered gasket like you find head gaskets made out of. Don't forget to have the pipe going to the muffler mounted where it has a little flex in it for the motor movement but to where therez no movement to hit the body or itz undercarriage components.

Thanks. Probably not justified but since the gasket only lasted three years i am not happy. I even brought it back to the garage after several days and several hundred miles so they can re-torque them.
