What size socket is used to remove the front driveshaft on a 2000 Expedition? I could see I needed a 12 point.....thought I read somewhere that a 12mm was the right size, but it's slipping on me...............
Make sure you're using a high-quality shallow socket with a really tight tolerance (Matco, Williams, etc.)
If you try to use a socket that has the points forged in roughly (i.e. Made in Taiwan), it will slip. It doesn't seem like it would be a big deal but sometimes it is.
IMO a box wrench is a better bet anyways. I have a Craftsman 12pt 12mm combo box that I find works particularly well for FoMoCo corporate driveshafts.
