Hey Guys,
New to the Board and what can i say ive allready spent 3hrs reading all the advice and tips ya'll have posted and all i can say is wow!! Tons of usefull and great information. I recently just purchased my first diesel truck (2001 7.3 with 120,000). It has micky wheels and tires, leveling kit, edge chip, afe intake and straight piped with a 4" tip. Ive looked at a bunch of exhaust online and want to upgrade in the worst way. Don't get me wrong its loud right now with just the muffle cut out but that 5" MBRP from the turbo back is looking pretty good. What do you guys think? Thank you much!
i have 5" on mine and like it. i tow a considerable amount and it helps with the EGT's. although i did buy the truck with it so i cant compare to what it was like with the stock exhaust. most people also have good luck with a 4" system, i only have about 1/2" clearance between the tail pipe and my spare tire
I have the 4" MBRP from the turbo back (with muffler). I like it. 5" wont do anything for you in terms of performance or sounds. Ok, maybe a TINY difference in sound, but not much. I would recommend a turbo back if you can. Some trucks have a cat.
