Does anyone know what wire on a 2009 f350 turns the interior lights on . I want to get a set of the Recon Big Rig Ice Running Board Lights to put on my truck . They come so that when you open the door they light up white as a courtesy light along the running board . I'm trying to figure out what wire I need to connect the new light to .
I don't know what color it is, but on my 05 the courtesy light wire runs under the drivers side doorsil to the back corner of the cab, then up the pillar to the roof.
You can pull the cover off your rear courtesy light to see what color the wire is, then find the matching wire under the doorsil.
There is a relay turning the lights on in the left upper corner of the fuse panel under the dashboard. I would have to double check it as I rewired it and put manual switch instead.
The fuse panel would be the best place to tap new wire
Thanks for all the info . I will check them out this weekend hopefully if it warms up a little . I like Kajtek1 idea of tapping in at the relay just need to see if I can figure out what relay is for the lights . These new owners manual are starting to become useless they are puting less and less info in them .
Any follow up on this thread? I am in a similar situation with my 2000 f350. Trying to find the easiest/best place to tap into courtesy lights for recon big rig ice running lights. Thanks!
