Father/son project

I realized today it has bees a long time since I wrote. As any project there has been a lot of downs and some ups. I have been looking for a C6 trans for my 390 and have bought yet another parts truck. This one is a 70 short box with a 390 and automatic. I hope to use the trans and put the 390 on the back burner. It also has some sheetmetal that I have been needed and a nice custom bench seat. I hope to get back on this project and start making some progress . So far we have a 67 frame a 70 cab 67 bed and a 68 front end Jonny Cash would be pround hahaha. Thanks to all for the such good info on this site

Love that Johnny cash song! I always love to hear of father/son projects. There just isn't enough of that going around these days. Good luck with the project and keep us posted.

Well today found out the 70 we bought the engine and trans was not even bolted together and the engine was sitting on the crossmember . We towed it 300 miles like that there is a God who keeps us safe (Psalms 91 ) . Removed the front clip and removed the engine plus our 390 that we cleaned up is now in the frame. Progress I like it

Ok I hope I'm out of place here but if your not using the grille inserts off your 70's truck I might be interested in buying them. Been looking for a set for my 70's truck for a while. Anyway let me know, you can e-mail me at lkuyers@yahoo.com. Maybe a trade if your looking something you need. Of course if you need them i understand, good luck with the project!
