I love learning handy uses for normally benign household items, so even if its not really needed- youre right it reduces that risk. I'm gonna try it. I just got new o rings in the mail yesterday because I lost a baggie that had about 40 left in it....oh well, itll turn up someday.
The Return system is what brought Diesels to the masses!
Finally a Diesel that did not take a mechanic to get it going again after running out of fuel!
The filter and IP return lines are at the highest point ...
They are basically open to the atmosphere ... Thus air can freely bleed off through the return system to the tank. A self bleeding system.
Under normal running, the excess fuel the motor does not burn gets run through the return system across the injectors for coolant.
