I know it's asked all the time but I have one more cluster question. I have a cluster I found in a junkyard to replace my other one. Both are for warning lights. There is one small difference. One has "unleaded fuel only" under the gas gauge. Will this one work? Will it just not work on the gas gauge.? Thanks
The ONLY difference between the "fuel" and "unleaded fuel" gauges is the labeling.
Other than the word "unleaded" on the face both gauges are identical.
The one other difference, early gauges had a red pointer, later ones had orange pointers.
Thanks for all the info guys. Turns out, the gauges are the same as said earlier but the circuit paper was different. Almost identical but off by 1 number and letter. Still don't understand why ford made so many different circuits and panels for the same year model. I put my circuit on the new back plate of the cluster. Put my gauges into the front of the new cluster plate. Still nothing but blinkers and dimmer light. I then noticed the bulb was blown that lights up the lights and wiper switch. Replaced bulb, nothing! Then the light in my brain comes on. Fuse! Lights on. Thanks guys hope this story helps with future jobs. Remember, if your cluster is bad you must replace it with EXACTLY what yours looks like!
