Ok, so currently I have a stock 2wd silverado, as I had tried to be a better Pennie pincher with the 15-17 MPG
In the past I had a 2003 F-350 7.3 Diesel with 18" and 38's that was a beast and about 12-14 MPG
The I bought the turd 2005 6.0 Diesel with 8" and 37's which netted me around 11-13 MPG
So now I think I want to spend from 25-30K, 4x4, leveled enough to get 35's on it with the stock 20's
I am still concerned about MPG because I don't just want to throw money out the window as I drive down the street. My decision is between Gas and Diesel. My Buddy has the 08 Diesel with 35's and says he gets 14-15 HGWY and 11-12 City. Does this sound about right? Will a gas be much less?
Thanks in advance!!!
That's about right. Diesel is usually a little better on mileage than gas, but..... you say you are "still concerned about MPG because I don't just want to throw money out the window as I drive down the street." Welcome to the club my friend. Trucks are bad *** but they are thirsty. My gas V8 truck in my sig gets 12 if I'm lucky.
Another Friend of mine has a 2011 F-250 with the Gas V-8, leveled with 35's and he says 13-14 with 80% of that highway (Now, I have no clue if that 90mph or 70mph, HUGE difference)
So this is comparable to my other friends truck, which is exactly the same lift and tires, but it's a 08 diesel.
Did the 08's 250's have the same gas motor as my friends 11?

In '08 to '10 you could get a 5.4 V-8 or a 6.8 V-10 gas engines. The '11 has a 6.2 V-8 gas engine or a 6.7 Diesel engine. I have heard of people getting less mpg with the 6.4 Diesel.
You will have to up the amount of money you will be paying for the '11 gas.

I'm sure someone will chime in soon that has the V-8 or V-10 and answer your question. Well, maybe not answer your question, but you will get some that get low teens MPG's and some that get over 20 MPG.
