1,820-660= 1,160 W available if you're running everything.
The stock alternator puts out 65A, or 910W.
With a 130A AND ALL the lights you're still ahead by 250W

The same idea, but you would need something like this;

It fits inside and converts the alternating current that the alternator puts out to direct current (DC) that your battery and electrical system can use.

just when i got the head lights on and the light bar, it puts a hurting on my battery, I can watch the gauge fall and thats just running 400w of extra lighting. i had my alt tested twice, once when i got it and again about 2 weeks ago and it checks out fine, no problems and its doing what it should be. thats another reason why I though about dual alts, my current one is fine and Id hate to sit it on a shelf or something and possibly let it go to waste.

Yeah, but your present alternator can only put out one half the current of the 3G, and it will only do that with the engine revved up.
The 130 puts out more at idle than your 2G does at 5000rpm

Ok, so did any vehicles come stock with that rectifier or was that completely aftermarket, also would it be on the back side of the alt or the front?

IIRC, It was found in some later ambulance packages but for the most part it is an upgrade.

Why do you need it?
I just showed you that even with EVERYTHING you have you're still 250 watts ahead of the full output of the 2G with just the stock 130A.

If you put that rectifier in you're going to have to change ALL your pulleys and buy an expensive wider belt.
Add $250.... to the $75 cost of the High Power rectifier, plus the cost of the 3G 130A and the wiring you need to do...

It's inside the rear case and needs to be soldered in place.

ok, thanks I just wanted to have plenty of charging power if I did ever run all the lights or most or half, etc. but just so I got this clearly, I can just replace my stock 2g with a regular 130amp 3g (w/o rectifier) and that will run my lights fine with no dual battery or dual alt. Im not an electrical genus by a long shot, I was just pondering ideas

so one 130 amp 3g alt + 1 battery=Happy joey

I have a 89 belt system. So will I need the wiring harness also with the alternator? I have a 89 F150 with a 351w. I would like the 3g 130 amp alt.

Not trying to tread hijack.

The 130A has a 130A rectifier already.
Did you read the link I have in post #12???
See where the red line is in comparison to the blue?

Not quite...
one 130A 3G alt + 1 battery + a beefy 2Ga charging cable + a 150A fuse and fuse holder + an adapter harness(or one you make yourself) = more than enough to handle your current needs.

.
Yes I read the link. The reason I was asking it because My factory wiring I have a small plug, and a flat wide plug too. I didn't know if the small plugs were the same b/t the 89 wiring and 3g alt.
