05 diesel F350 sd 4wd crew cab with random no fuel pedel response. driving down the road just fine and she just goes to an idle. i could pump the pedel and nothing. it seems to idle a little lower rpm when doing that, but doesnt stall. then it just comes back into it. could also happen at stop light with foot on the brake, the idle drops then may surge. starts fine. sometimes while waiting for it to get to operating temp the idle may rise and fall a bit but only for a few seconds. took it to dealer, they said code was engine REMFG module? they replaced and started doing the same thing. would be greatful for any help!
I had that happen to me on my 04 f250 CC. Had to replace my gas pedal the throttle is not controlled by wire but wireless. Cost me around $700.00 from the dealer
You should probably post down in the 6.0L forum. The 6.0L doesn't have a throttle positions sensor, because it doesn't have a throttle plate. No diesel does.
I've never heard of an REMFG module, either. If you knew the actual codes the dealer pulled it would help.
The truck does have an Accelerator Pedal Position sensor, which is part of the pedal assembly. If it or the wiring to it has having problems, it will set APP specific codes. You should be able to get those read at most auto parts stores that have a code reader that can read Ford enhanced codes.
There are three resistors in the APP sensor. If one does match the other 2, codes will be set. If all three don't match, the truck will default to idle. However, it shouldn't surge or drop below idle. It should just drop to idle.
The next time it does it, try wiggling the wires under the dash. I did it with mine, and it never did the "dead pedal" thing again. These trucks are well know for wire chaffing problems.

I realize the 6.0 does not have a throttle plate but I searched the Ford parts website for a 2005 6.0 Diesel Accelerator Pedal Position sensor and variations thereof; it returned with "No items found". Searching for a 2005 6.0 diesel Throttle Position Sensor found the previously mentioned part for $73.90.
not sound biased, but i'm inclined to agree wif benny. possible icp sensor issue. at first i thought about possible hpop issue, even stc fitting. ehh, maybe. maybe's all we got now. lol.
