No Throttle problem
I have a 05 Excursion with 38,000 on it, totally stock besides updates and usual maintinence. 4 times now it has lost throttle, 2 times on start up in which it would just sit and idle, no throttle response at all, after shuting engine down and restarting numerous times, in which it had a lower than normal idle and nothing until after 8-10 trys, I left it idle at that low RPM and it slowly got back to normal over 3-4 minutes and was fine. 2 other times it was as i was going around corner and when I stepped on gas, nothing, sat at idle. Both of those times I could never get it to refire at all after turning engine off. Been to dealertwice on it and they cannot find anything, replaced backpressure sensor first time and nothing 2nd trip, nothing wrong, every test came in normal. Getting very frustrated, anybody have any ideas at all..

Have the dealer check is the Electronic Throttle Control, the 6.0 SD is drive by wire.
Also was the engine and oil warm all these times? If the engine and oil were warm you may have a HPOP problem, snap fitting is known to fail on the 05 especially.

Engine had been running for at least 5-10 minutes each time but not over 15 each time. So warm but not real warm. Its still at dealer right now. Another thing I noticed after the last visit and them updating everything, is that the pedal now has 1"-2" of play before it does anything and the amount of dead play seemed to change while driving.. I'm sureits nothing major, but trying to prove it happens and track it down is becomeing a pain.
