I have a '64 f100 that i bought a "390 FE" off of craigslist to install in it. Well the 390 turned into a 361 FT. The truck previously had a 390 in it so I thought it would slide right in. It does except for exhaust manifolds hit the motor mounts. The exhaust manifolds are center dump because of that extra hole. I cant find headers for the 361 FT because of that damn center hole. Does anyone have any ideas?
I thought about moving the motor mounts from the side of the engine to the front mount that was on the engine when I bought it. I would have to fabricate a cross member for the front. Does anyone know if this would work?
I guess my other option would be to rebuild engine and buy 360 heads and get rear dump manifolds.
Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
