I need help identifying an old carb that I have. It has the "smooth" style air horn (typical of truck?), nozzle bars that are high in the middle, vacuum port and a spark control valve. The throttle base has the hole for the vacuum and is setup for a choke cable with a bracket attached to the lower middle section and on the other side of the base, a ball lever.
The throttle base has AA-1 marked on it, no marking in the circle and 94 on one side. Oh, the little accel spray bar has a #70 on it. Please help. Thanks.
Sounds like a typical Holley 94 - used on all these trucks in one variation or another. When the OEM carb was beyond r & r the owner could buy a generic 94 from lots of vendors and suppliers.
It's period correct unless you're doing a point by point restoration.
Doesn't the spark control valve which from reading an article, indicate it was used on later Y block engines starting in 1954? could it be a model 2110 or 2100? Sorry, I guess I don't totally understand your reply
Aty first I thought it couild be EBU or ECV. But seems like ID'ing it is a little more complicated than I thought. Are you saying in your reply, that a generic carb would be unmarked?

Yes, I believe he is. I have had a few that were unmarked as to model, but said Ford on the right side. These were replacements most likely gotten through a Ford dealer. I have also possessed some Holley-branded carbs, some marked 59 (for earlier cars/trucks), some TAGGED 8RT, some marked 2100. These were probably originally sourced through Western Auto, Sears, etc.
As stated, will work for a driver, but not for a show truck.
