My friend is planning on buying a Bronco and removing the roof by sawing it off. I argued thats its not a good idea because the structure of the truck is designed with a roof and it will handle worse and be less safe in event of an accident but all her friends say I am wrong but I also don't know much about Broncos
Since the trucks are built on a frame, not a unibody, the structure should be Ok but you would still have to be concerned about a roll-over. Please feel free to add anything that I may have forgotten about since it has been a long day.
Also remember that some of these Bronco II's were built without a hard top for the back. Some had hard covers, some had tauna covers. Cut the top off and go with it. At most (accidents aside) you'll need to worry about rain. As far as side or front or rear impact, the structual strength will remain, in a roll-over you won't have to worry about the top pinning you in.
