Pop & I have 1982 F-150,s that have never been hit by lightning & that
braided chord has been discarded for many years! Both trucks have spent
time in the field as "huntin-rigs" in the foulest of weather from California to
Idaho, but my 4x4 is our main mode of choice since 1995 & since 2009 my
beagle Jethro has been our "third" hunting partner!
I missed the detail of this post R/E smaller trucks... But, Pop & I both had
identical 1972 Ford Courier p/ups that we used to hunt & camp with that
did not have a ground to the "forward-opening hood"! But, nothing we
ever owned has been struck by lightnin! Those small Ford trucks always
got us home & hauled several deer home! IF not for California banning
some of our guns, we might still live there! I currently enjoy the freedom
of having a concealed weapons permit in Idaho for nearly 15 yrs!
