Looking for first ford truck

Hey everyone im looking to get a truck for my first vehicle i know your all thinking he cant afford the gas blah blah. i work alot so i think ill be able to on the gas but i have a few questions. Im on a ford forum so everyone here is probably gona say ford rules and all that but im trying to do research and get all the opinions i can on chevy truck and fords. What are your guys opinions on both an f 250 and a chevy silverado. There is constant argument as to which ones better. Im 17 and i take an automotive class at my school so i know a decent amount of stuff on cars and trucks but i have always wanted a truck since my dad and stepdad had one. Will insurance be very high for a 17 year old with a truck like this? Thank you to anyone who replies

Insurance will be high regardless of what vehicle you get at 17 years of age. Ford/Chevy boils down to preference. I had a 1993 Chevy S-10 that had 180k miles when I got rid of it and I had no problems with it. I have an 03 F150 Supercrew and have more problems with this truck and it only has 60k miles on it. I am looking for a diesel, so I can pull my 26' boat better, and have it narrowed down to Dodge or Chevy.

I am 19 and my insurance is roughly $75/month on a 2000 f150. I have no tickets or violations, and that is for full coverage with $500 deductibles for collision and comprehensive. Keep in mind that I live in ND too, so insurance here is practically free.

I would stay away from an f250 if i were you, being that you probably have no reason for it other than "cool factor". Diesels are much more expensive, and more difficult to learn how to work on them.

Chevy vs. Ford in all reality is a tradition thing for most people.
